MMus in Viola – Royal College of Music

BMus (Hons) in Violin – Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama

Grade 8 piano – ABRSM

Grade 5 Music Theory – ABRSM

Morven studied violin performance at the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama and in her final year, decided to try out the viola. She immediately found a love for the richer timbre of the viola, and went on to achieve a masters degree in viola performance at the Royal College of Music.

Skills & experience

Morven is a viola and violin specialist who joined West Sussex Music in September 2021. She provides ensemble tuition as the conductor of West Sussex Junior String Orchestra and viola sectional tutor at West Sussex Youth Orchestra both based at the Horsham Music Centre.

Morven is always on the lookout for new pupils at her schools (especially on the viola!) and offers group and individual lessons on viola and violin. She is happy to prepare pupils for ABRSM or Trinity grade exams, and teach those who just want to learn for fun!

Morven has a great love of orchestral and ensemble playing, and currently enjoys a balanced career of teaching and performing. Her recent performances include an orchestral tour of Russia, Gatsby: The Musical in London and Mack and Mabel in Guildford.
