If you are looking for a potential career in music or want to find out more, come and join us to meet the UK music industry at BBC Music Introducing Live 18!
It’s happening at Tobacco Dock in London on 8-10 November and will bring together the UK’s music industry for hundreds of inspiring masterclasses, interactive sessions and workshops in the day, all culminating in some very special live performances in the evening, broadcast on the BBC.
BBC Radio will also be broadcasting live from the heart of the event at Tobacco Dock throughout the three days on Radio 1, 1Xtra, Radio 2, Radio 3, 5Live, 6 Music and Asian Network.
The event will include a range of over 400
speakers from artists such as Example, Tom Grennan and The Amazons, through to huge industry players such as Glastonbury’s head-honcho Emily Eavis, producer Frazer T.Smith and Adele’s manager, Jonathan Dickins from September Management. Plenty of BBC DJ’s will be there including Annie Mac, Lauren Laverne, Huw Stephens, Danny Howard, DJ Target, Steve Lamacq, Phil Taggart, Tom Robinson and many more.
There are masterclasses on how to get a job in the music business and getting funding for your music career through to how to get a job in music PR. If you are a musician there are sessions on how to build a social media following, a DIY guide on how to get your music out there, panels on how to get festival bookings and song writing workshops – plus hundreds more. Visitors will be able to have their music heard in the A&R Feedback Centre, visit endless music brands and manufacturers, gain practical advice from world class recording engineers from Abbey Road Studios, the BBC and more, through to a UK Music Careers Fair, Independent Label Market, live music, opportunities to perform and plenty of bars to relax and network along the way!
Separate to the more serious learning daytime sessions, we will also be programming
some intimate, evening performances on a separate ticket. On Thursday 8 November, we open the night-time showcases with an intimate gig with Ben Howard, Marika Hackman and Matt Maltese. BBC Radio 1 will be bringing the Rave Lounge to Introducing Live with Annie Mac, Danny Howard and Monki plus special guests on Friday 9 November. On Saturday 10 November, DJ Target will close the three days of music discovery at Tobacco Dock. The show will be simulcast live on BBC Radio 1 and BBC Radio 1Xtra between 19:00-21:00 where the party will continue exclusively off-air until 23:00.
We’ll be announcing the full line up of the hottest artists, MC’s and DJ’s in the coming weeks!
