Petworth Festival Performances

West Sussex Musicians once again take part in the prestigious Petworth Festival. This year our pupils are involved in three distinct and exciting events.

Lunchtime in the Park with West Sussex Music

Venue: Doric Temple, Petworth House Pleasure Gardens
Date: Sun 19 July 2015 – 12.45 to 1.45pm
Tutor: Steve Morley
Level: Beginner
Box office: Free - no need to book

Pupils from Swiss Gardens Primary School will lead this World Music event with a short presentation celebrating their percussion skills. There will be opportunities for audience members to participate in the workshop that follows using a variety of percussion instruments.

This performance is outside. Please bring your own low backed seating or rugs and dress for the weather.

West Sussex Young Musicians

Venue: St. Mary's Church, Petworth
Date: Wed 22 July 2015 – 7.30 to 9.30pm
Level: Stage/Grade 7

Featuring some of West Sussex Music's finest musicians, this concert will showcase a mix of ensemble and solo repertoire rehearsed and refined during the new Advanced Performers Summer School Course at Lodge Hill, Pulborough.

The Advanced Performers course is generously supported by the Westdene Fund at the Sussex Community Foundation.

Jazz in the Stables

West Sussex County Youth Big Band opens this hugely popular jazz and dance event featuring The Pasadena Roof Orchestra and George Montague and his band.

A hog roast, hot drinks as well as a bar selling wine, beer and soft drinks will be available.
