FRI 27 MAY 2016
On Friday 20th May, the Worthing Youth String ensemble performed at the Mayor of Worthing’s Inauguration Dinner which took place at Northbrook College.
Councillor Sean McDonald was delighted with their performance and described it as, “A brilliant evening, the Strings were wonderful and they made it an amazing experience as the guests arrived.”
Councillor McDonald is an advocate of supporting and showcasing the local talents of young people in the town. He will soon be visiting Worthing Music Centre to see the various ensembles and bands in action and attending the final of three annual Worthing Music Centre concerts on June 25th. At this concert he will be presenting certificates to the students who are leaving the Music Centre to go to university.
Some of the students who are leaving this term joined the Worthing Music Centre at just eight years old, so have been members of West Sussex Music for around ten years. They have worked hard to develop their skills to become accomplished musicians, and several of whom will be continuing to studying music at university.
