Ruth will be sharing with us her music teaching practice and deep dive experience. The session will end with an opportunity to ask questions and share experiences together. Looking at outstanding will provide our road map for the following CPD sessionsIn this session we will be exploring our understanding of the MMC and extracting the most relevant and useful aspects of it. During the session we will map out progression routes in beat (pulse) and rhythm. These foundational skills in all music teaching will be taught though the rest of the term providing discrete/ editable resources. The Model Music Curriculum - 3 February 2022 (4 - 5:15pm on ZOOM) In this session we will be exploring our understanding of the MMC and extracting the most relevant and useful aspects of it. This is a stand- alone unit that can sit alongside any pre-existing scheme being used in school. Rhythm and Beat Foundation Stage to Year Two - 17 February 2022 (4 - 5:30pm on ZOOM) This session will explore teaching beat (pulse) and rhythm progressively in Foundation and Key Stage One. The focus will be on understanding and using music notes, pictures, rhythm grids, improvisation and recording the children’s work. Rhythm and Beat Year Five and Six - 10 March 2022 (4 - 5:30pm on ZOOM) As above but following the progression route for Upper Key Stage Two.With a group of music leads from our West Sussex Schools we will learn how to find/ use ICT music technology to create and record music. Most of the resources will be free and accessible from any computer or iPad. It will be an opportunity to apply new skills learnt in a fun and engaging way that we can then share with all our pupils. Using ICT to Create Music- 16 March 2022 (4 - 5:30pm on ZOOM) With a group of music leads from our West Sussex Schools we will learn how to find/ use ICT music technology to create and record music. Most of the resources will be free and accessible from any computer or iPad.
