Education & training

Born in Dayton, Ohio, Lindsey Kleiser studied at Cincinnati’s College-Conservatory of Music, earning Bachelor degrees in Oboe Performance and Music Education. After graduating in 2012, she moved to Sarajevo to serve as principal oboe of the Sarajevo Philharmonic (2012–2016). During this time, she also performed Cor Anglais with the 24/04 World Orchestra in Yerevan, Armenia, an ensemble dedicated to promoting peace and speaking out against genocide.

From 2016–2024, Lindsey has played oboe and cor anglais with the Al Bustan Festival Orchestra in Beirut, Lebanon, a festival orchestra devoted to fostering cultural collaboration through music. She began her master’s studies in 2016 at Hochschule der Künste Bern, performing with the contemporary ensemble Vertigo and pursuing independent projects exploring performer-audience interaction and music accessibility. In 2018, she served as principal oboe and English horn for the Wunderhorn Mahler Chamber Orchestra of HKB, premiering a CD of Mahler songs under Claves Records. Lindsey completed her Master’s degree in Oboe Performance with special distinction in June 2018.

From 2021–2025, she toured and performed with the Armenian State Symphony Orchestra and the Malta Philharmonic. She currently lives and works as a freelance musician.

Skills & experience

Lindsey maintains a balance between performing and teaching, believing that musicianship and education go hand in hand. She teaches piano, woodwinds, guitar, and voice, leads classes in music theory, and conducts masterclasses on orchestral etiquette and instrument care. Her approach is holistic, focusing not only on technical proficiency but also on fostering musicality, teamwork, self-expression, and a lifelong love of music.

Passionate about empowering students, Lindsey enriches their learning through diverse experiences, including collaborations with other educators and musicians, masterclasses, and side-by-side performances. Her goal is to nurture confident, versatile musicians who understand both the craft and the joy of music.
