As a charity our Board of Trustees ensures West Sussex Music meets its charitable objectives, bringing high-quality accessible music education to children and young people in West Sussex.
We’re therefore sad that Margaret Evans is standing down as a trustee. We thank her for all her dedication and commitment to West Sussex Music and for supporting our growth during the past six years.
However, we’re thrilled to announce two new trustees have joined West Sussex Music Trust Board.
Nicki Hughes is the parent of two young musicians who have progressed through ensembles at our music centres and James Bartlett is the Director of Music at Christ’s Hospital, a school known for its strong musical tradition and support for low-income families.
Nicki said, “I am excited to be joining the West Sussex Music Trust board as I have huge admiration for their dedication and work providing music opportunities for all children. I have twin daughters who play in the West Sussex Youth Orchestras so have first-hand experience of the benefits of being part of West Sussex Music not least in building confidence and making new friends. I’m looking forward to working with the other trustees and members to help build on the incredible work already achieved.”
James said, “I am delighted to be starting as a trustee of West Sussex Music. I’ve really enjoyed collaborating with the team on a number of school singing projects since moving to the area three years ago, so have first-hand experience what a fantastic organisation it is. The team is wonderful, and I look forward to working even more closely to ensure access to the very best musical opportunities for young people across the county.”
