The West Sussex Youth Wind Orchestra forms a key part of the county’s musical progression pathway, leading into the prestigious West Sussex Youth Orchestra. Performances include the finals of the Music for Youth National Festival at Symphony Hall, Birmingham, in venues across West Sussex and toured Europe.
Who can join? Grade 5 and above
When does the orchestra take place? Rehearsals take place on Saturdays during term-time at Horsham Music Centre, c/o Millais School, Depot Road, RH13 5HR

Chamber ensembles
West Sussex Flute Choir: brings together talented young flautists to explore a wide range of repertoire, from classical to contemporary, in an inspiring ensemble setting.

VINCE GODFREY | Conductor
Vincent is a professional woodwind player and conductor and has played and conducted in commercial recording sessions in London.
He has been teaching pupils aged between 7-77 since 2012 and has taught in various settings from primary schools up to specialist music schools. Vincent has been working for West Sussex Music since July 2021 and conducts ensembles at both the Chichester and Horsham Music Centres.
Outside of teaching Vincent enjoys a varied freelance career as a performer, arranger and educator. Highlights of his performing career include: Edinburgh Fringe Festival, Belgium Cathedral, and Carnegie Hall in New York.
