Want to play in a band?

Do you know a young person whose passion is performing? Are they a singer, guitarist, or drummer? If so, our Play In A Band sessions could be exactly what they’re looking for.

Play In A Band lets young people develop their skills as a member of a rock band. Whether they’re a backing vocalist or lead singer, a rhythm or lead guitarist, bassist, drummer, or keys player we’ll find a role for them.

As well as improving their musical skills, Play In A Band provides the opportunity to make new friends, celebrate successes, and support each other throughout whilst exploring their untapped potential.

Each week, players will work with experienced tutors and like-minded young musicians to explore a wide range of popular songs. They’ll learn how to arrange music together, improve their stage presence, and gain practical experience in live performance.

This term, we’re especially keen to welcome singers in both Worthing and Horsham, and bassists in Worthing- so if you know any budding singers and bassists, we’d really love to hear from them!

Elizabeth Leondaritis, Youth Engagement Manager at West Sussex Music, said:

“Play In A Band is a fun and welcoming place for children and young people to get a supported experience in building a band. As well as being hugely collaborative, it’s a safe place for young people to learn what it takes to put a band together – as well as enjoy the opportunity to perform to friends and family at the end of each term.
