Ben is a highly experienced classroom music teacher and is currently Director of Music at Collyer’s Sixth Form College as well as Secondary Curriculum Manager for West Sussex Music.
Ben is an experienced brass player, playing with several bands, orchestras and big bands in London, as well as playing tuba in the Crofton Brass Quintet. Although a lower-brass specialist, he is happy to teach trumpet and cornet to Grade 6 level. Ben’s students have 100% pass rate in their instrumental exams, with many of his students going onto study at music conservatoires.
Ben is a also a an experienced composer and arranger, with works performed in venue including Guildford Cathedral and the Royal Festival Hall. Several of his composition students have gone onto study at music conservatoire. Ben is also an experienced Music Theory teacher, with 100% pass rate for his students in Grade 1 – 8 theory.
