Education & training

Charlotte is a trumpet and brass instrumentalist who has been playing from a young age. She has been involved in ensembles growing up, such as Kent Youth Wind Orchestra, Southern Counties Youth Band and Folkestone Symphony Orchestra. She has since then graduated from Chichester Conservatoire in a BMus Orchestral performance course specialising in trumpet and natural trumpet, under her tutor Fraser Tannock.

Skills & experience

Charlotte has performed in orchestras, brass bands, wind bands, jazz and swing bands and chamber groups in the UK and Overseas. Most recently, she played for the University of Chichester Brass Band in Norway as part of the EBBC youth competition.

As a young musician, she played principal cornet in Shepway Brass Academy, winning the best soloist prize during a Southern Counties Youth competition. She attended various Kent Music summer schools for both Jazz and Orchestral residential courses, as well as a Brass specialist summer school course at Purcell School .

She has had a variety of performing experience, including a local show “Annie” as the principal trumpet lead. In contrast, she has played many band stand performances in her local area for concert band, brass bands, and a military band as well as Orchestral concerts. She continues to play for ceremonial performances in the local West Sussex area.

Charlotte is continuing with her professional studies, undertaking a Master’s degree at Chichester Conservatoire alongside her private teaching and freelance performances.
