Oxford University, BA (Hons) in Music
With over 15 years of teaching experience, Jeni has worked with students of all ages and abilities, from complete beginners through to Grade 8 and beyond. She believes learning music should be enjoyable and rewarding, and encourages students to play pieces they love while building strong foundations in technique and musicianship. Her teaching supports students to grow in confidence and self-belief, and those who choose to work towards exams consistently achieve excellent results.
Jeni brings a broad and enthusiastic approach to music, shaped by experience across many genres and instruments. Her background includes orchestral playing, ensemble leadership, composing, arranging, and producing. Alongside teaching, she has worked as a session musician and live performer, with over 20 years’ experience in the music industry, including work with Atlantic Records and Universal Music, as well as supporting professional performers in live events.
Jeni is an exceptional music teacher. She has completely made the difference for all my three children learning piano: my youngest, working on Grade 2, up to my eldest working on Grade 8. Jeni has gone above and beyond in preparing my eldest for his GCSE and A Level performances as well as ensuring he is fully prepared for starting a Music Degree at Southampton. She has encouraged all of them to extend their repertoire, develop their musical awareness and work on their understanding of music theory alongside their performance skills. We have been so impressed with their progress. I would highly recommend her – whatever your starting point. Emma, parent
My favourite part of my lessons is when I start a new piece and Jeni helps me to understand how to play it. Jeni finds pieces of music I will enjoy to play, not just my grade pieces. She is always kind and nice and encourage me to do my best. Sophie, student
