Education & training

Tom studied his degree of BMus in Music Performance at the University of Chichester Conservatoire.

He has been playing since he was 11, studying under Adam Morris, Rich Carter and Kate Love.

Skills & experience

Tom has been teaching music privately after he graduated from the University of Chichester Conservatoire and discovered his passion for teaching music. Knowing how exciting it can be learning an instrument he is keen to share his expertise and knowledge with students so that they can understand and excel in their studies, building strong foundations while guiding them in their learning.

In his lessons Tom works towards the fundamentals of key skills and independence on the instrument, alongside working to understand the theory behind the music and how it all works. This is with the aim to give the students freedom on their instrument and allowing growth of skills like improvising and playing with ensembles so they can work cohesively and confidently with other musicians. While improving their performance skill set he aims to progress and encourage students to further their development.

Tom has played with many bands and orchestras across Essex and West Sussex. Playing in shows such as Rent, The Producers and Chicago, he has led many bands and percussion sections at his time at the University of Chichester Conservatoire. He has toured with a variety of orchestras across Europe playing across countries such as Germany, Spain, Italy, France and the Czech Republic, he has also toured in America playing in venues such as the Kennedy centre and Ground Zero. And also has plans to take his music across the globe in the future.
