Composing and Improvising Made Easy

Composing and improvising are often one of the aspects of the National Curriculum that teachers struggle
with. In this session we share a four step approach, transferable to any curriculum and highly accessible
and inclusive for all teachers and pupils.

Understanding and Using the Interrelated Dimensions of Music

These are part of the National Curriculum and intrinsic to all good music teaching but what are they and how
can we use them in our music lessons? In this session we apply them to music we will learn together and
have a clear pathway  that is accessible to all and highly inclusive for us and our pupils.

Using Notation

Being able to record what we create and share our ideas with others is as important in music as it is in
storytelling. Reading and using notation are often real barriers for teachers so in this session we give you
fun, easy and memorable ways to being to make notation part of your curriculum.

Teach your own Classroom Instrumental Lessons:  djembe, ukulele, recorder, glockenspiel, bucket drumming

The above accessible to all instruments are great fun to learn and give confidence and fluency to staff and

Assemblies, transitions and beyond. Singing makes you feel good and brings communities together. But
how to do it all if you don’t feel confident? We look at vocalising, ways to develop a good sound and some
songs that will get your feet tapping and sounding fabulous.
