About Mike:
“My name is Mike Jacot and wish to represent children in schools, champion West Sussex Music and support the hub so that every young person in classrooms throughout the county experiences the life changing benefits of music.
I am a class teacher of a wonderful Year 2 class and Music lead at West Park Primary School in Worthing, having trained as a primary Music specialist at Plymouth University. After first teaching in Plymouth, Devon, which included teaching 60 pupils the cello and organising music workshops for local schools, I moved down to Worthing where we have worked hard to support teachers, build up our wide range of clubs and diversify our primary music teaching after the COVID lockdown.
Outside of work, I enjoy singing, playing the cello and guitar, sailing and surfing on the coast.
West Sussex Music Board is important as I wish that every primary child in the county, no matter their background, has incredibly special musical opportunities and learning throughout their time in school.
