Tomorrow’s Orchestra Programme

Orchestral lessons for beginners

Give a child the gift of music in 2022

To encourage new musicians for the future, we’re thrilled to announce a brand new free opportunity for children to start learning orchestral instruments.  Introducing: Tomorrow’s Orchestra Programme (TOP).

If your child or the child you care for has a keen interest in music, and is aged between 7 – 12, this is a great opportunity to nurture that curiosity and help them develop skills which last a lifetime.

Listen here to our head of music centres, David Bennet, talking to the BBC about this fast track instrumental programme.  During conversation they touched on how playing music as part of a group benefits children’s mental health, wellbeing and helps increase their social circle, connecting to other likeminded young people.

Here’s a short clip of our West Sussex Youth Orchestra performing ‘Havana’.  All students in this video have followed a structured progression route similar to the TOP to reach this stage.

Tomorrow’s Orchestra Programme lasts for three terms, starting in March with sessions at Chichester, Horsham or Worthing music centres.

TOP has been designed to take students on a journey from absolute beginner to a confident level on their chosen instrument and introduce them to playing in an orchestra.

There are so many benefits to learning a musical instrument. Tomorrow’s Orchestra Programme combines an instrumental lesson and orchestra rehearsal and has been created to give a fast track route to children who are keen to make music with others.
