Musical Easter holidays

Two Children Work Together On A Computer, Two Others Are In The Background

Looking for something fun and engaging for musically minded children and young people over the Easter holidays? Then West Sussex Music has the answer.

Four workshops have been organised to take place across West Sussex in Crawley, Bognor Regis, Littlehampton, and Worthing by the charity West Sussex Music.

The four workshops are as follows;

Rap and Lyric Writing at The Arena, Bognor Regis on Monday 8 and Tuesday 9 April, from 10am – 3 pm. During this course, participants will learn creative writing, rhyming and rhythm; record a song as part of a group; collaborate in singing and song writing and perform to their peers.

On the same day in Worthing, and running at the same time, the Rock & Pop Band workshop will be taking place at Northbrook College’s state-of-the-art band rooms. If your 8-16 year old has a passion for playing guitar, bass, drums, keyboard/piano or singing then this workshop is for them. It is advisable to attend both days as each day will build on band skills, learning songs and performing at the end.

The Rock & Pop Band workshop will be running at Thomas Bennett Community College in Crawley on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 April from 10am until 3pm. Details are as above, and it’s advisable to attend both days.

Over in Littlehampton on Wednesday 10 and Thursday 11 April, the Rap & Lyric Writing workshop will be taking place at The Angmering School from 10am until 3pm

James Underwood, Chief Executive for West Sussex Music, said:

“These workshops were hugely popular when they ran over winter so we’re thrilled to be able to offer them again, but expect them to be booked up very quickly! There’s so much to be learnt across the workshops, which are an exciting way to get involved with music during the school holidays.”

All the workshops are open to 8 – 16 yr olds, all skill levels are welcome and equipment and lunch are provided. These workshops are a wonderful opportunity to be active during school holidays and make music with others.

Free places for those receiving free school meals. Half price for those on other benefits.

 All participants will receive a Digital Badge after completing the workshops. Digital Badges are a smart, simple, and visual way of recognising non-accredited learning. These are also a useful tool for earners to proudly display on their website, email signature, LinkedIn profile, and CV.
