Three time’s a charm

They say everything happens in threes, and in the case of West Sussex Music’s SEND programme, which runs activities with young people with special educational needs, this is definitely the case with not one but three successful funding bids.

Orchestras Inc., the SEND music group run by West Sussex Music, a charity working across West Sussex, is topping off an incredible year of learning by being awarded funding by the Chalk Cliff Trust, Horsham District Council, and Worthing Borough Council.

The funding comes at an important time for Orchestras Inc. and means that we can expand our team of specialist practitioners at Horsham and Worthing and increase the number of free sessions on offer.

Alison Sutton, Assistant Head of West Sussex Music, who oversees Orchestras Inc. said:

“On behalf of all our Orchestras Inc. musicians and their families, I’m incredibly grateful to the Chalk Cliff Trust, Horsham District Council, and Worthing Borough Council for their generosity. This vital financial support will ensure we can continue to offer these opportunities to young people with additional needs and will mean we can increase the number of sessions available at each centre.”

Orchestras Inc. is open to children and young people with special educational needs, including those attending special schools, those at mainstream schools with additional needs and those who are home schooled. No previous experience is required, and all equipment is provided. Activities are suited to young people in key stage 2 and above (up to 25yrs).
