WED 01 APR 2020
Regrettably, as from Wednesday 1 April 2020, we will be taking a temporary break from the delivery of instrumental and vocal lessons.
This was not an easy decision to make but, in order to survive the impact of the current coronavirus crisis we, like many other charities, need to take advantage of the scheme the Government has put in place to support employers and employees at this difficult time. By doing so, we can ensure that our staff and music teachers continue to get paid but, unfortunately, as furloughed employees, they will be unable to work over this period.
Our teachers had been working hard to offer the opportunity for pupils to continue their learning and to fulfil the quota of spring terms lessons via an online learning platform. We are most grateful to them, and to you, for engaging in this process and we had hoped that this would be an option for the summer term but, in order to comply with the Government scheme, our teachers will no longer be in a position to offer these, as of Wednesday 1 April, and all online lessons scheduled for this date and beyond will need to be cancelled.
Please be reassured that lessons not offered will be credited and this may be used towards future West Sussex Music activities. Please do not cancel any direct debits as the April payment is your final contribution towards spring term tuition.
Further to our previous update, we can confirm that our options for Summer Term currently remain unchanged:
We would like to thank you for your continued support and patience and to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to ensure that we will be in the best position possible to recommence activities, as soon as we are permitted to do so.
Until then, keep practising and stay safe…
