Skills & experience

Connor McCorkindale is a freelance drummer based in Brighton, with a passion for pop, electronic and rock music. His passion for pop music has allowed him to develop a vast understanding of electronics and hybrid set ups, including Roland sample pads & triggers, playing to backing tracks & click tracks, as well as Logic Pro X & Ableton Live.

His desire for the instrument has led him to dive deep into different styles & genres, techniques, and advanced concepts to further develop his proficiency as a drummer.

For over a decade, Connor has played for numerous bands and artists (Coco & The Lost, Winter Gardens, Hourglvss) giving him the chance to play, and tour all over the UK and Europe, including major festivals such as Y NOT and the Isle of Wight, large capacity venues such as Camden Roundhouse, Electric Brixton, KOKO, and O2 Ritz Manchester, alongside multiple theatre events including the musical “9 to 5”.

I think Connor is a good teacher because he lets me play to most of the songs I want to learn and he makes learning drumming to them so fun! Also when Connor is not teaching me a song, he is patient when I don’t get the beat the first time and is quite friendly about it. He prints and tries to draw sheets for me to drum to so I don’t forget how to play the songs and/or beats and so I can practice them at home. It is quite fun when Connor lets me select some things that I learn and demonstrates most of the things he teaches me. I would recommend him to you for all of those reasons.” Olly, 9

“Connor has been a great teacher for my son who started as a beginner. He’s friendly and let’s my son choose the direction of the lesson, yet is still learning new techniques, patterns and rhythms and will even show him and let him play along to his favourite songs, Eg. Kaiser Chiefs, The Foo Fighters. My son looks forward to the lessons each time and he comes highly recommended!” Christine, parent
