Workshop – Unconventional Strings
13 November @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
£5 – £10
In this hands-on youth workshop, William will show students how to get new sounds out of their instruments. He’ll cover unconventional techniques, how to find a groove on a string instrument, tips for improvising with confidence, and his own ‘Cellopickin” style, playing the cello sideways with a plectrum.
The workshop is pitched at intermediate to advanced players, but younger students and all abilities are very welcome. Students can bring an instrument and join in, or simply watch. Anyone working on a piece is welcome to bring it for feedback, though there’s no pressure to.
Tickets: £10 for participants, £5 for observers
