Education & training

Michael is a guitarist and composer who has many years of experience in professional performance and educational settings. In 2014 he graduated from the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama with a first in his BMus and the RWCMD guitar award. Michael went on to complete his Masters in guitar and composition from the Royal College of Music in London, where he now is doing a doctorate in composition supported by the Frank Bridge Award and the Irish Heritage Composition Award.

Skills & experience

For the last 10 years Michael has taught guitar in various music services and schools. He has taught students ranging from infant school to higher education and taught classical, electric, acoustic and bass guitar, as well as music theory and composition. Michael’s aim is to help a student develop a passion for music making and give them the tools to grow that passion through their instrument.
